As the Open Source Solution architect you enable AkzoNobel to increase the adoption and the benefits from the development and use of open source solutions and prevents AkzoNobel from exposure to unmanaged risks.
 

The Open Source Solution Architect is responsible to translate requirements into solutions and describing it through architecture and designs. The architecture and designs are expected to be in line with business processes and architectural standards, guidelines & roadmaps.
 

The Open Source Solution Architect reports into one of the Domain leads in the Center of Expertise. The Center of Expertise IM is responsible for providing sustainable, efficient, robust and secured IT Cloud solutions. In addition, the team will be responsible to train, educate and ensure the right capabilities are available to meet the business project and major change needs. In addition, the CoE is responsible to match resource demand with supply, to ensure delivery of required resources and that target utilization rate of the resources is met.

You are a definite Evangelist for Open Source and are curious and self-learning
Also you have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in combination with strong analytical skills over multiple technical domains to identify opportunities and solutions. You anticipates on the technical, business and functional consequences on all levels (incl. strategies) and have the ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new trends and technologies. As well as the ability to remain neutral toward technology, vendor and product choices, as well as to be more interested in results than in personal preferences towards any technology or vendor. You are recognized by others as authority in the own technical domain. You can balance the long-term (or “big-picture”) and short-term implications of individual decisions


Experience / Education must haves
•Knowledge and experience with multiple Open Source frameworks (e.g. Angular, NodeJS and PHP)
•Agile methodologies (e.g. DevOps, Scrum, Kanban)
•API Design and Management
•Experienced with containerization (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes).
•Development Tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps, OWASP)
•Master/ Bachelor degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study
•Utilizing security best practices (DevSecOps)
•Around 10 years of experience in the IT sector in general and with more than 5 years experience in the respective technical domain, expressing deep and broad knowledge of architecture, IT security, (technology) platforms and business processes for the specific technical domain and with (comparable) business environments
•Solid technical solution architecture experience with modeling and/or infrastructure / application architecture design frameworks (TOGAF), tools, technologies, methodologies
•Knowledge and practical skills in best practice solutions in the shared solutions space
•Knowledge of the process industry and relevant technological developments in the respective technical domain
•Experience with consulting or business roles
•Fluent in written and spoken English
