R&D internship


6 months internships within AkzoNobel Paints & Coatings Aerospace R&D laboratory (Sassenheim, The Netherlands)


We are looking for a student who is interested in an internship within the laboratories of AkzoNobel Aerospace starting in February 2022 in the Netherlands.


Description of placement assignment (several assignments available):

The student will be able to formulate with a high degree of independence coating formulations, performing tests, etc. Literature, internal reports, and coating educating syllabi can be used to acquire theoretical knowledge. The student will have very regular contact with the supervisor to discuss approach, results, and continuation. All communication is in English. Several subjects are available, but because of the confidential nature of our research, they can’t be mentioned in this publication. The subject can have a more innovative character (technology/concept development) or focus on product development. Regardless of the final subject, the interns will learn coating technology and research in an industrial organization. 

Internship duration: 6 months on from February 2022 to August 2022.
Location:  Rijksstraatweg 31, 2171 AJ Sassenheim The Netherlands
Remuneration: €700/month and €250 for lodging, before taxes.

You are following a master’s degree in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Polymer Chemistry / Formulation. Beyond these role specific attributes, you are a proactive and persistent self-starter, and a good communicator. You know how to communicate on different levels within an organization. You have strong hands on mentality and have a high level of curiosity. You can work both in a team, as well as independently. You have the ability to organize your work and possess creativity to deal with practical problems and have a strong drive to deliver. You have good written and spoken skills in English.
