As the Global Color Product Owner & Project Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and developing color software applications and databases that are essential to our paints and coatings business worldwide. You will lead international projects for new color software development and manage maintenance programs for multiple internal software applications and databases.

Key responsibilities

As the Global Color Product Owner & Project Manager based in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, you will be part of the Color Technical Infrastructure team. Your main responsibility will be to manage the maintenance programs for multiple internal software applications and databases within approved budgets and timelines. Additionally, you will lead projects to deliver new software applications and solutions.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Ensuring continuous availability and monitoring of application processes.
  • Leading IT development projects that involve multiple disciplines and connect to multiple software packages.
  • Ensuring development and technical management of multiple internal software/database applications.
  • Collaborating closely with global and local teams to ensure effective deployment of AkzoNobel's color infrastructure and application.
  • Providing necessary technical support (1st line problem solving) and training.
  • Managing year plan for functional adaptations related to color software & databases development while safeguarding planning and budget.
  • Writing maintenance plans and organizing necessary resources, including well-defined goals, milestones, and planning.
  • Conducting inventories of customer and stakeholder requirements/expectations and managing them effectively.
  • Creating and updating use cases, test scenarios, test data, technical documentation, and user manuals.
  • Writing progress and status reports with early communication in case of deviations in planning.

 

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in IM/IT/Business IM.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT, preferably in color and paint industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of market requirements, as well as business and IT processes in other functions, such as marketing and R&D.
  • Demonstrated project management and analytical skills, including familiarity with procedures and tools.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Capable of building and maintaining a network across all functions and business units of AkzoNobel.
