Export Control Officer – Introduction
If you are an experienced export control and sanction regulations professional, this is an exciting opportunity to influence the ongoing success of a world expert in making coatings. We are now looking for an Export Control Officer to join us and take day-to-day responsibility for ensuring that we meet our Export Control & Sanctions obligations.
Export Control Officer – The Role
• Ensure Export Control & Sanctions Policy, Rules and Procedures developed by AkzoNobel Legal is in place & working effectively.
• Provide subject matter expertise & functional guidance to colleagues.
• Act as a compliance ambassador.
• Ensures export control matters are understood & communicated effectively.
• Stays abreast of relevant trade control laws/regulations.
• Conducts screening of individuals and entities in sensitive countries
• Take responsibility for shipment review & approval/blocking
• Ensure all products/technology identified & classified - maintains a classification registry
• Make sure licenses are in place for the export of relevant products/technology in accordance with laws & regulations.
Export Control Officer – About You
• Degree, preferably in Global Trade Compliance, Legal or related field.
• Experience of having worked for a global company headquartered in the EU.
• Background in global/country trade regulations & requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant EU/UK export control regulations.
• Excellent communication, influencing & interpersonal skills.
• Business & solution-oriented mindset.
• Good project management abilities.
• Enjoys a collaborative working environment where supporting colleagues is key.
