Job Purpose

Delivery - Guide line management to deliver HSE&S&S policy, set the culture and manage hazards

Improvement - Act as a change agent for continuous improvement and a role model for compliance and commitment 

Capability - Maintenance of a thorough knowledge of all HSE&S&S systems and requirements for Chonburi Site. Leverage HSE&S&S expertise to support own unit and others 

Strategy – Contribute to the HSE&S strategy beyond own unit

People Develop the HSE&S competency of line managers in the Chonburi Plant

Key Accountabilities

Delivery Guide line management to deliver HSE&S&S policy, set the culture and manage hazards 
Tasks: Guide line management to develop and ensure implementation of HSE&S&S policies, plans and practices for Chonburi Site in line with the AkzoNobel HSE&S&S Policy, Directives, Rules & Procedures and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements; together with and in support of line management, set the safety culture and manage hazards. Revise HSE&S&S procedures to meet corporate requirement and submit for approval. Identify high risk activities in Chonburi Site, reviewing control measure to the risk at acceptable level and monitoring control measure implementation. Lead all incident investigation which happened at the factory, follow the proposed corrective action and assure the quality of implementation taken.
Improvement Act as a change agent for continuous improvement and a role model for compliance and commitment 

Capability - Maintenance of a thorough knowledge of all HSE&S&S systems and requirements for Chonburi Site 

Tasks: Participating in conducting training for critical HSE&S&S procedures and validation for understanding. Actively promoting the sharing of learning across organization. Developing annual training plan based on the training needs and coordinating with HR to implement it. Be an effective coach for the Chonburi Plant by leveraging and extending its HSE&S knowledge through personal participation in auditing and/or incident investigation and/or through training activities within the AkzoNobel through personal functional development.
Strategy Contribute to the HSE&S strategy beyond own unit (10%)

Tasks: Contribute to the development of the HSE&S strategy for design, deployment and delivery of the AkzoNobel HSE&S Policy, Directives, Rules & Procedures and Safety Common Platform for the entity at the next higher level, in order to ensure alignment of objectives and performance of SESAME/Chonburi.
People – Develop the competency of the line managers in Chonburi Plant

Tasks: lead the development of line managers to equip them with the relevant HSE&S skills to deliver HSE&S performance.

 

Key Activities

 Formulates, signs off guidelines and procedures and implements standards for functional discipline

Is able to manage a complex organizational environment (internally and/or externally) and knows how and when to influence

Significantly contributes to several specific areas of HSE&S agenda 2 - 4 years ahead (i.e. process safety, environmental liability)

Has good knowledge of and signs off processes within own HSE&S discipline taking into account the relation with other disciplines on SBU level within defined HSE&S framework

Experience

University graduate, major in Safety / Management system ISO14000, ISO45001 or OHSAS18000 or SA8000 is preferable
Good knowledge of HSE&S management system and relevant local legislation
Very good verbal and written English language skills
Preferred candidate who has experiences in multi-national or well-known company 
Understand the life critical safety standard for manufacturing industry
Intensive experiences from chemical industry

Positive influencing: ability to convince others, gain agreement or acceptance of plans, activities and ability to move others willingly towards a desired goal or course of action; 
Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards; 
Able to work in an inclusive way in the HSE&S community to make sure the business experiences ‘one voice’ and the teams collective objectives are met;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management, business acumen;
Relevant experience in different multiple units, disciplines, locations and/or other companies;
Broad (people) management capabilities.
