Key Accountabilities
• The Regional Sales Manager is responsible supporting the development of and implementation of the Marine global business strategy which is critical in delivering the vision for the BU.
• Having full business (P&L) responsibility for Marine China, Taiwan and Hongkong; the Regional Sales Manager will implement the agreed strategy by means of effective planning, guidance and obtaining support from key functions, and direct management of the commercial team to realize agreed targets for market position and financial returns in the short as well as longer term.
• Leads the commercial organization to develop and implement specific action plans and capabilities based on the guidelines set in the segment plans.
• Ensures clear action plans are deployed by the team for the execution of sales strategy for all segments and brands in all countries against agreed goals.
• Engages with major customers and customer groups within the region on a frequent and regular basis and supports key partnership and relationships to ensure understanding of present and future market trends to drive sales.
• Drives full usage of Customer Relationship Management System and ensures discipline throughout the sales organization to update and maintain a high standard of data management.
• Provides input for the demand forecast (operational and financial forecasts) as part of the Integrated Business Planning process.
• Complies with the requirements of the Management Business Reviews and ensures strong and detailed preparation of budgets, rolling forecasts, and monthly reviews.
• Is responsible for and actively involved in development of business objectives and leads key development projects for the region.
• Maintains familiarity with applicable company policies & procedures with regards to business/ personal conduct; health & safety standards; and always acts in compliance with all applicable rules and country specific legislative regulations.
• Effectively manages functional / matrix relationships within the region, ensuring support and guidance for both strategic and tactical issues from key supporting functions i.e. ISC, R&D, etc.
• Deliver financial performance in line with agreed targets, ensuring that effective controls are in place; keeping abreast of changing market dynamics and undertake timely corrective action to optimize business performance
• Responsible for relationship management with the JV partner International Paint, Shanghai.
Requirements
• 15+ years experience in paints/coatings segment, or aligned industry, in sales, marketing and key account management. Marine industry experience will be a benefit.
• Preferably engineering & business management degrees
• Leadership, stakeholder management, project management, decision making, creating value propositions, drive, results orientation, communication and presentation, commercial and business acumen, basic understanding of cross functional processes and financial concepts related to sales and cost to serve
• Ability to lead a diverse, cross-divisional network to achieve business results
• Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop appropriate plans and relationships that deliver results within a diverse and challenging business climate
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and presentation skills. Fluent in English
• Willing and able to travel approx 50% of the time
