Pay Rate and Schedule

 

Hourly Wage :$20.50 and step progression. 

Shift Schedule: 4 days at 10 hours a day with OT when needed.

Join Our Team as a Hazardous Waste Operator!

Are you passionate about environmental compliance and safety? We are seeking a dedicated Hazardous Waste Operator to manage hazardous waste in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. As a Hazardous Waste Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe generation, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste materials. Your attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures will contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

Safety and Compliance:
•  Follow all established safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
•  Demonstrate integrity while performing duties in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct.
•  Understand and adhere to basic laws (RCRA) governing hazardous waste generation, storage, transportation, and disposal.

 

Waste Management:
•  Maintain detailed records of hazardous waste manifests and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
•  Schedule pickups of hazardous wastes and coordinate shipments with environmental coordinators.
•  Separate hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste and ensure proper labeling and storage procedures are followed.
•  Inspect hazardous waste storage areas regularly to ensure compliance with RCRA regulations.

 

Operational Support:
•  Operate the waste water treatment plant as directed by the plant operator.
•  Assist in maintaining area housekeeping responsibilities to uphold cleanliness and organization standards.
 

Level of Autonomy

 

The Hazardous Waste Operator will primarily work under supervision and will not make decisions independently without seeking approval from higher management.

Job Requirements

 

Essential Qualifications:

•  Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions and guidelines.
•  Must have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
•  Ability to multitask, balance priorities, and demonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.
•  Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
•  Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents.
•  Must be physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, climbing stairs, and working in hot/cold environments.
•  Obtain and maintain a wastewater treatment plant operator II license.
