Job Purpose
|
Design, configure, test, and continuously improve enterprise process intelligence solutions and business process monitoring capabilities using Celonis EMS and related enterprise technologies. Support business transformation initiatives through IT changes, Agile DevOps delivery, and process optimization activities in line with global Information Technology (IT), enterprise architecture, and security standards to enable operational excellence, process transparency, and measurable business value. The role contributes to data-driven decision making by translating business process requirements into scalable process mining solutions, dashboards, analytics, and actionable insights across global business functions.
The Technical Engineer actively collaborates with business process owners, implementation partners, and external consultants during the execution of enhancements and deployments. The role contributes to incident resolution, root cause analysis, process optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen operational performance and process transparency.
The Functional Engineer oversees large-scale implementations and complex operational changes together with strategic partners and cross-functional teams. The role ensures quality execution, monitors delivery progress, governs testing and deployment activities, and leads continuous improvement, incident management, and process mining best practice adoption across the organization.
We are seeking an experienced Functional Engineer with a strong background in process mining and a proven track record in designing & implementing impactful process mining use cases. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in using Celonis to analyse, optimize, and transform key business operations, particularly within finance and supply chain functions. You will leverage Celonis Process Intelligence capabilities, AI-driven insights, and Agentic Automation features to drive digital transformation initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies, opportunities for potential savings, and developing advanced Celonis applications, dashboards, and intelligent workflows that enhance performance and achieve business objectives. Key Activities
Story specification
Translate business process requirements into clear and detailed Celonis solution designs. Own and develop high-quality stories and configuration specifications for Engineers, Developers, and implementation partners to translate into dashboards, process models, integrations, analytics, and EMS configurations including implementation proposals and deployment planning.
Development & delivery
Guide, coordinate, and oversee the preparation, implementation, and deployment of process intelligence solutions and related configurations. Ensure that all internal and external partners follow established standards including process documentation, governance controls, testing procedures, naming conventions, and architectural principles. Review, approve, and control the implementation of new enhancements, dashboards, KPIs, analytics models, and process mining capabilities across enterprise solutions.
This results in sustainable, scalable, and business-aligned solutions delivered in close collaboration with stakeholders, business process owners, and external service providers. Solutions are developed according to enterprise architecture and security standards, while changes are properly prepared, documented, validated, and implemented to deliver operational insights and measurable business outcomes.
Testing
Own and coordinate testing activities for Celonis stories, dashboards, process models, and integrations. Develop and maintain test scenarios, review test outcomes, support user acceptance testing, coordinate business sign-off, and contribute to release planning and test management activities to ensure reliable and high-quality deployments.
Incident management
Perform functional and technical analysis of incidents, data quality issues, and process intelligence disruptions based on business impact and severity. Conduct root cause analysis, document findings, coordinate corrective actions, and oversee deployment of fixes to ensure timely and effective issue resolution and stable operational performance.
Process management and improvement
Monitor and analyze the performance, adoption, and security of Celonis solutions and related enterprise applications against agreed service and business KPIs. Actively contribute to process optimization initiatives through dashboard development, operational insight visualization, automation, and advanced analytics. Maintain visibility of technical debt and collaborate closely with Domain Architects and delivery teams to continuously improve process intelligence capabilities, DevOps practices, and platform stability.
Project support
Support project and program managers by taking ownership of process intelligence deliverables including requirements gathering, configurations, dashboards, analytics, testing, and deployment coordination. Define, plan, manage, and execute assigned activities in alignment with IT delivery leads and business stakeholders to ensure efficient realization of project objectives and transformation outcomes.
Experience
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in process mining, analytics, business applications, or IT delivery
- Relevant Bachelor or Master degree
- Understands core Celonis EMS concepts, process mining fundamentals, and assigned enterprise applications within a defined business process area.
- Participates as a member of a project or Agile DevOps team supporting operational enhancements and low-complexity changes with limited business impact.
- Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering and LLM API integration. Knowledge of AI agents, tool/function calling, multi-step workflows and agent orchestration. Good SQL skills and understanding of relational data, data models and business data. Ability to consume/build APIs and integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications.
- Performs business and process analysis within a defined process mining scope and contributes to solution design activities.
- Identifies operational bottlenecks, process deviations, and compliance issues within assigned workflows.
- Supports story development, testing, configuration, and deployments with limited business complexity and operational risk.
- Provides internal support and advice regarding Celonis functionality, integrations, and operational issues.
