RPA Designer

Job Purpose

The purpose of a RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Designer revolves around the design, development, testing, and implementation of RPA solutions. Their role is instrumental in developing automations and maintaining existing automations, ensuring reliability and accuracy. Their purpose of the job includes:

• Design: Create efficient and scalable RPA solutions that align with business objectives.
• Development: Write and configure RPA scripts or bots to automate tasks.
• Testing: Support in conducting testing and quality assurance activities to identify and resolve errors in RPA solutions.
• Implementation: Assist in the deployment of RPA solutions into production environments.
• Process Optimization: Contribute ideas for enhancing and redesigning processes for automation.
• Technical Learning: Continuously learn and develop expertise in RPA tools, and related technologies through training and hands-on experience.
• Documentation: Assist in maintaining comprehensive records of RPA solutions, configurations, and changes, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible.
• Compliance Awareness: Learn about data security and privacy regulations relevant to RPA solutions, ensuring adherence to compliance requirements.
• Project Support: Assist in project management activities such as tracking timelines, dependencies, and deliverables, contributing to the successful completion of RPA projects.
• Problem Identification: Troubleshoot technical issues and assist in optimizing bot performance, under the guidance of senior team members.

Key Accountabilities

Business Requirements

• Work closely with business users to understand business requirements for RPA projects, including process details, objectives, and success criteria.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design RPA solutions that meet the identified needs.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, and solution designs in a clear and comprehensive manner.

Development & Delivery:

• Develop the end-to-end automation projects, managing project timelines and dependencies.
• Build and redesign the processe, ensuring a reliable and scalable automation.
• Implementation and/or embedding of new enhancements and/or modifications of automations/RPA solutions. 

Testing

• Identify and rectify errors by performing SIT and assisting in UAT to test RPA scripts, ensuring that the automation processes function accurately and reliably.
• Develop robust error handling mechanisms to manage exceptions and issues that may arise during RPA solution execution, ensuring smooth and fault-tolerant automation.

Incident Management:

• Proactively monitor RPA processes and systems for any anomalies or issues that may arise, including bot failures, errors, or performance degradation.
• Investigate the root cause of incidents by analyzing log files, examining code, and conducting tests to identify the source of the problem.
• Implement fixes or workarounds to address incidents promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and maintaining service levels.

Experience

• Expected to exhibit an unparalleled understanding of RPA capabilities, coupled with a distinguished portfolio showcasing extensive hands-on experience in crafting, optimizing, and maintaining highly intricate RPA solutions.
• Must possess depth of insight into the RPA development lifecycle, complemented by an illustrious history of meticulously crafting and adhering to industry-leading Process Definition Documents (PDD) and Solution Design Documents (SDD) across multifaceted projects.
• Required to demonstrate an expertise in automating diverse processes spanning across different domains, encompassing but not limited to web, Excel, SAP, PDF, desktop applications, and databases, showcasing adaptability and ingenuity in tackling complex automation challenges.
• +3 years in development role or relevant work experience
