Job Purpose

The FP&A ISC analyst reports to the Global FP&A ISC Manager VMC and works closely with the BU Head, BU FP&A, R2R, Product Cost CoE, IBP, ISC and Commercial Navigators / Controller, creating an impact by providing high value adding analysis on variable manufacturing cost (VMC) of the respective BU at various levels (BU, Performance Cell, Region, Country, Legal Entity, Site, Customer-Material to the ISC and Commercial association.

Key Accountabilities

Supports the ISC and Commercial association,

  1. Preparation of VMC analysis dashboard and walks.
  2. RMPI performance matrix.
  3. Weekly review of critical SCOA, continuous monitoring and flagging for corrections.
  4. Validation of any manual adjustments in respective BU.
  5. Generate insights on VMC for the respective BU.
  6. Explain the major movements or gaps through detailed commentary.
  7. Liaise and align with stakeholders on VMC insights and analysis.
  8. Follow-on actions to fix identified gap and monitor progress.
  9. Cater and accommodate VMC ad-hoc requests

Experience

  • 10-12 years’ experience as analyst or as controller in a business environment and/or functional area.
  • Qualified charted or cost accountant or similar equivalent professional competency.
  • You are ambitious and see this function as part of your development to become an all-round Finance professional in AkzoNobel.
  • You are curious, eager to learn and always searching for improvement opportunities (process wise)
  • You have affinity for numbers and systems, and have strong analytical skills combined with a critical, but constructive attitude.
  • Experience in building automated reports and models is a must, excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • Strong HFM, ERP, BI, CFIN and other data analytics software systems experience (including advance excel to build automated models via different tools like macro, power pivot, data consolidation and data analysis).
  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize, and articulate complex financial information for decision making.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
  • Able to prioritize and work with multiple supervisors / stakeholders.
  • Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘drive’ to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Self-starter, hands on mentality and team player.
