Job Description
1. Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job
The innovative and effective deployment of data and analytics is key to the success of companies today. AkzoNobel is no exception as we seek to embed the improved understanding of data across the company. Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize the use of data within our R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales, Finance, HR and Sourcing Functions have been services delivered from our Global MDM over the last few years. This demands the skills of someone who can dedicate his full attention to the specific needs of these process/Functions. Someone who can analyze, process data and help our CoE organization to improve the data quality in our ERPs. This is why the GBS Master Data Services require a Master Data Experts. The MDS Master Data Experts will support the team with MDM Cleansing, and other data quality improvement initiatives.
2. Responsibilities
- Responsible for or support the activities done by the CoE for the relevant data domain within all capabilities provided by the CoE (i.e. MDM Foundation, Projects and Analytics & Curation)
- Monitoring of (master) data quality
- Responsible for data exports from the system
- Responsible for data analysis, data cleansing
- Validation of big sets of data to identify patterns, quality gaps in order to improve it
- Support Data Domain experts, leads with projects related to data quality improvements
- Building KPIs and dashboards
- Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Customer service mind-set with excellent customer service skills
- Capable of managing assignment in a dynamic environment with ever changing priorities
- International mind-set – sensible for cultural differences
3. Job Requirements
- Post-Graduation in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, IT or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ overall experience with 2-3 years’ experience in MDM related function
- Experience in Data quality improvement related projects
- Experience in implementation of MDM processes
- Experience in interfacing with business operational customers
- Experience in MDM process improvement and root cause analysis
- Experience in complex business environments
- Experience with Alteryx and Power BI is a plus
- Understanding of external factors influencing master data management such as competitors, regulatory requirements, best in class practices, etc.
- Leverages best in class examples, key expert / key stakeholder input to design the appropriate MDM foundation
- Leverages business understanding and its requirements in the design of the MDM project agreed end states/outcomes
- Keeps deadlines and produces high quality output
- Fosters a constructive dialogue with functions and key stakeholders
- Strong communicator and change agent
- Strong English knowledge
- Project management experience preferred
- Tools: SAP knowledge, Excel/Macros/VBA, Access, Alteryx, Power BI and SQL as a plus
