Job Purpose

The Shippers ship and record the movement of product, supplies, equipment and stock to and from the facility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Must follow all established safety rules and procedures
  • Move, handle, prepare, and maintain product/inventory to meet shipping, receiving or production requirements
  • Operate appropriate job specific equipment i.e. pumpcart, forklift
  • Maintain accurate storage of product/inventory to confirm with FIFO (first-in-first-out) inventory procedures and maximize inventory accuracy, including stock location maintenance.
  • Understand packaging requirements to ensure appropriate storage/shipping of, and prevent damage to product/inventory.
  • Daily data entry of inventory and order documentation into system to maintain inventory accuracy, i.e. SAP or another ERP system, Fed Ex IP, Fed Ex IPD, Purolator, etc.
  • File and route documentation to appropriate departments for further processing.
  • Support and participate in HSE&S, Product Stewardship, PSM, SAQ, LSR/LCP, BBS and JHSC.


  • 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines
  • Basic computer skills i.e. word-processing, spreadsheets and e-mail
  • Excellent accuracy to identify all aspects of receiving, moving, forming and shipping of material/ products
  • Basic level data entry skills with accuracy
  • Transportation of dangerous goods knowledge
  • Possess a valid forklift certificate with a satisfactory health and safety record, or be willing to obtain a forklift certificate
  • Good communication skills when dealing with internal or external customers
  • Excellent customer focus fulfilling day to day duties and responsibilities or when required to work beyond scheduled times to meet customer delivery dates
  • Team focussed and able to work under pressure to get the job done
  • Strong organization and prioritizing skills to organize day to day duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, bending, reaching, packing and moving of material/product when fulfilling day to day duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to work shift work and/or flexible hours as determined by the work centre
