Job Purpose

We make paint and coatings!!!   We transfer completed products into various size and types of containers.   We identify and apply the correct information on the containers with proper documents while following all safety procedures.

Total Compensation

  • $21.50/hour ($0.50 increases in March and September for 4 years)

Key Accountabilities

  • Must follow all established safety rules and procedures.
  • Following the instructions on the batch ticket, pack off quality approved products into proper containers measuring from 1 gallon to 5000 gallons using filters, pipes, and hoses as required.    
  • Throughout the fill off process ensure QC requirements and the sample taking specified on the batch ticket are executed.   Ensure proper yield, by weighing and/or measuring the volume of the material in the containers with the tools provided.
  • Once containers are filled, ensure everything is sealed properly and labelled per the batch ticket instructions before sending to our shipping department.
  • Perform area housekeeping responsibilities e.g. Properly dispose filters, wash out pump, wash tanks and filter housing and hoses with the appropriate cleansing material.
  • Properly label and stage all cleaning material in proper areas.

Job Requirements

 

Health & Safety:  

  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow safety instructions and safety guidelines.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and can lift and handle containers such as 5-gallon pails up to 75lbs, 60lb bags of pigment or maneuvering drums up to 900lbs.  
  • Ability to climb stairs wearing steel-toed footwear.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments and inclement weather in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to chemical agents while wearing all Personal Protective equipment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.

 

Experience

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of coating, chemical industry / paints is an asset.
  • All should apply, training available.
