Job Purpose
The Warehouse Operator I is responsible for preparing, packing, and staging customer orders for shipment while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company procedures and customer specifications. This role supports daily warehouse operations by safely handling materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, operating material handling equipment, and following all safety, environmental, and quality standards to ensure on-time delivery from the Waukegan facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Receives packing orders and packs product by ensuring the correct packing configuration, correct labels, correct documentation, and correct container/carton have been applied/used per customer specifications.
- Verify product specifications match customer's request on can and box label, including revisions, date of manufacture, date of expiration and storage temp.
- Mark and label hazardous material boxes per the regulations of DOT, IATA and IMDG. Record packing logs for the number of orders and box counts, and record weights and total liter volume on Delivery Orders.
- Assist in the operation of the case packer by loading gallon cans on the conveyor, labeling boxes, packing quarts cans or stacking boxes to achieve the Standard run rates.
- May use hand-powered trucks or similar powered vehicles.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area through use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and a disciplined daily work ethic.
- Load and unload trucks as needed.
Consolidation and organization of the warehouses and outside storage areas
Participates and contributes to Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental activities (SAFE meetings, BBS observer, HS&E training, housekeeping, & 5S).
Follows operating procedures for proper inventory, handling, and staging of material.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Detail oriented
- Work involves standing or walking most of shift
- Ability to lift 55 lbs.; ability to push/pull 55-gallon drums weighing up to 600 lbs
- Capable of wearing a breathing apparatus (respirator)
- Manual dexterity required
Total Compensation
- The hourly range for these skills is $23.00/hr. + 3% annual bonus.
