Job Purpose

Majority of retail business is conducted through unorganized SSOs and the remaining is conducted through LSOs. 90% of all sales from SSOs is to BIY consumers, Small/Medium Projects (5000L< top coats) and painters doing HID. The SSO owners and shop assistants (both in LSO and SSO) play an important role in providing guidance to consumers and extending credit/providing service to painters buying from them. Most SSOs are not conducive for consumers to walk into, consult with and take decisions in-store on paint and painting.

The purpose of this job is to implement set of plans and tactical programs for Shoppers, developed in line with the strategic framework of the BU, by enabling SSO and LSO implementation. The job will involve working closely with the area sales teams to drive purchase conversion to achieve retail offtake growth and ensure delivery of the SMART KPI’s.  

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for development and deployment of in-store offtake program, ie. Promotion scheme and activity.
  • Work closely with sales team for identifying set of offtake program based on store classification
  • Work with the customer marketing head and brand marketing team to run targeted activation campaigns run at stores for shoppers
  • Responsible for deployment of the In-Store model merchandising aimed at addressing shopper needs, building on the Dulux In-store Guideline model developed by the regional commercial excellence team

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business or related course with a minimum of 4 - 6 years in a commercial role with prior experience is mandatory – sales/ trade marketing/ channel marketing experience or country level experience in a commercial role in paint and/or building and construction material industry will be an advantage
  • Understanding of the merchandising concepts, and prior experience in Category Management (CatMan) will be added advantage
  • Should have the ability to convert Research data and Commercial data into insights and commercial business ideas
  • Superior Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word),
  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized with good project management skills; ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal communication skills) and strong interpersonal and influencing skills
