We are actively recruiting for the role of Regional Marketing Specialist to be based from our Nashville Headquarters office. This role is responsible for leading and managing the marketing activities surrounding the strategic positioning and logistical development of communication activities for our Powder Coatings business group within the North America (NAM) region. In this role your will ensure the information/communication provided to the market and internal forum reflects the standards and capabilities of the company as well as being accurate and forthright.
You will utilize multiple media platforms to deliver the AkzoNobel message to the market in a professional manner, targeting existing and potential customers.

  • Analyze communications methods and results on a regular basis to determine effectiveness and touch points.
  • Interact with the business and department stakeholders to understand strategic direction of the organization for the following markets: United States, Mexico, Canada, 
  • Accountable to the marketing and business management teams to create clear, creative marketing communication activities and platforms to enable accomplishment of strategic objectives.
  • Responsible for the development and execution in the following areas: advertising, business/trade media relations, literature, direct marketing, inquiry fulfillment, event/exhibit marketing and other communication or promotional functions performed by the business unit to ensure compliance to business unit objectives
  • Plan, write and edit content for a variety of communication mediums on a frequent basis ensuring message is consistent across traditional and digital mediums and (fit) for different segment/channels of the market
  • Central role providing solicited and unsolicited advice to product managers, segment managers, and other global and regional stakeholders.
  • Build a strong network, keep internal clients abreast of progress made, respond to feedback and adjust communications accordingly.
  • Accountable to the marketing and business management teams to create clear, creative marketing communication activities and platforms to enable accomplishment of strategic objectives.
  • Plan, write and edit content for a variety of communication mediums on a frequent basis ensuring message is consistent across traditional and digital mediums and (fit) for different segment/channels of the market
  • Stakeholder in the development of the NAM marketing communications budget and the management of spend to ensure compliance with business unit budget.

Accountable for the following activities

  • Prepare customer e-bulletins to communicate products, services, events, promotions, pricing, etc.
  • Enhance and continue market visibility for all segments/channels through the use of multiple media platforms, ie Instragram, Facebook, brand websites, Twitter, Linkedin, trade magazines, youtube.
  • Program & populate internal sales representative sales platform tool to ensure all content is strategically placed and managed for ease of use.
  • Understand the strategic positioning of company’s multiple brand and ensure that all activities and communications developed meet the brands mission, vision and values defined.  
  • Collaborate with AkzoNobel corporate communications to develop public relations messaging to develop a consistent message to the market.
  • Outline and define NAM market needs to global communication team in an attempt to streamline /share developmental activities. 
  • Define clear objectives to 3rd party resources to ensure all developmental activities meet AkzoNobel guidelines, message, and design.
  • Plan design & execute all activities for trade show events. 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree prefer concentration in Marketing/Communications or 10+ years of equivalent experience
  • Strategic planning capability

  • Strong social media understanding
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid comprehension of English language and writing skills
  • Organization skills 
  • Global travel
