Job Purpose

The Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing of products according to specifications, to meet business objectives. Will plan, coordinate production related activities at the site to meet objectives and budgets relating to HSE, quality. Service and cost. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Directly lead 5 shift supervisors over a 3-shift manufacturing operation.
  • Co-develops and executes plans related to improving HSE, quality, service and costs in conjunction with the Site Management Team.
  • Participates in the definition & execution (where relevant) of investments for production related activities and equipment.
  • Works with RD&I to enable New Product Initiatives, of which product responsibility is accepted from RD&I after three successful batches. (Scale up process)
  • Enables and contributes to the implementation of Continuous Improvement activities & programs for HSE, Quality, ALPS or other as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Understand and comply with all ISO Standards I
  • Ownership of departmental training Process, ensuring accountability for digital processes Performance Portal and OEEA program.
  • Leader of ALPS for department
  • Stimulates, manages and follows through on employee engagement and builds on the workforce to reflect the societies and markets in which we do business (D&I). Ensures that job profiles are in place, sets objectives for team members, reviews development and provides clear, open and constructive feedback on performance combined with the appropriate actions.
  • Interact and support all other departments – Engineering, HSE, Quality Control, Shipping Purchasing, Customer Service etc.
  • Participate in the daily meetings of the production schedule, seeking synergy with the areas involved for solutions of deviations occurred in relation to the pre-established production program, such as machine maintenance, quality control, production scheduling, raw material and closing the RNC's
  • Enforce the technical specifications and/or equipment required at the beginning of the production process for each type of paint, with the participation of the area of quality control and maintenance of the machines;
  • Support the systematic assessment of services involving risks of accidents at work through the application of Work Permit
  • Responsible for conducting the activities of the Product Stewardship Policy in its respective area of operation.
  • Deliver PSM / SAQ / ALPS actions on time

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree , high level in chemistry or chemical Engineering or similar Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years Supervisory Experience in a Manufacturing Facility
  • Must have high MS Office skills
  • Must have SAP skills
  • Must have experience leading others
  • Must have problem solving skills towards Continuous Improvement
  • Cost Control skills 
  • Is familiar and complies with all the applicable corporate as well as site and laboratory policies/procedures regarding personal conduct, HSE and Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) standards.
