Job Purpose

  • Serves as first point of contact for all employees to answer questions relating to payroll, benefits, performance and development, technology (systems), and human resources policies/procedures
  • Updates the HRIS system (SuccessFactors) with all data entry requests, focusing on efficiency and quality processing
  • Resolves and documents simple to moderately complex issues submitted by employees via email, mail, and fax in a timely manner.  Will escalate more complex issues as appropriate
  • Under general supervision, will respond to basic and moderately complex eligibility and enrollment inquiries about employee benefit programs, including but not limited to; medical, dental, vision, retirement, 401k, tuition reimbursement, Medigap, death case processing, unemployment, and qualified medical child support orders.  Will also respond to life, health, and disability insurance; medical/dependent care spending account; and standard human resources policies and procedures (i.e. vacation, severance)

Key Accountabilities

  • Answer incoming calls and monitor/respond to emails for the Human Resources Shared Service Center.  Will troubleshoot, research and resolve issues related to retirement benefits, payroll and benefit services.  Will monitor and maintain case management tickets according to customer service level agreements
  • Handles routine changes by processing paperwork and inputting data into the system.  Will consult with appropriate manager or subject matter expert regarding forms that are incomplete or contain conflicting information
  • Assists on projects when assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in human-resources related customer service environment
  • Broad knowledge of human resources policies and processes
  • Effective customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to handle high volume calls while meeting customer service level expectations.  Must be able to employ courtesy and tact in all customer exchanges.  Must also be to propose ideas/alternatives to resolve issues 
  • Effective written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to correspond in a professional manner via email
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred 
  • Proficiency with HRIS and/or case management software preferred
  • Must be fluent in English.  Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or French a plus
