Job Purpose

Primary purpose for this role is to carry end-to-end responsibility for a value stream cell and is responsible for the total inventory (incl. SEFI and RMP), supply chain costs and planning efficiency.  Also to secure product availability and coordinates interface with Business Operations Leader (BOL), Demand Manager and Customer Service Manager to the BU. Coordinates the interface with Manufacturing, Logistics and Procurement.  The Supply Chain Manager Is jointly accountable with the BOD (Business Operations Director) for OTIF (delivery to request, delivery to promise), supply chain cost, inventory health, finished goods inventory, End-to-end cost to serve (total delivery cost, incl. expedited freight), total lead time and cost of poor quality.  Manages team of Value Stream Planning Manager(s) and Project and Improvement Manager. The Value Stream Planning Managers are leading planners in the area of DRP planning, Production planning, Material planning and Capacity planning.

Job Responsibilities

Value Stream:

  • Define and orchestrate BU Region Value stream strategy – define SLA SC for the value stream: Logistics, Manufacturing, RMP.
  • Coordinate with Logistics Managers SLAs SC translation into specific warehouse & transportation resource and capacity requirements – ensuring transportation quantities in line with strategy
  • Align with Production/Site Manager SLA SC translation into specific bottleneck / resource requirements (SLA) – ensuring batch sizes and production lead times in line with strategy (highest NPV within current constraints)
  • Follow-up Service Level accuracy and SLA SC bias (~D-OTIF)
  • Track End-to-end cost to serve (total delivery cost, incl. expedited freight) and define correction actions when required.

    Team Management:

  • Manage the value stream team (X team members) for BU Region
  • Demonstrate leadership according to company values, walking the path with the team
  • Ensure the right setting of objectives, performance and development of the team
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to improve E2E value stream performance as well as process efficiency.
  • Work closely with supply chain director and BOL to define and deploy the strategy and plans within the BU Region

                         Key Performance Indicators

  • DC: Service – ensure on time and in full targets (OTIF) measured as delivery capability are achieved.
  • DIO: Inventory levels – maintain correct stock balance whilst adhering to operating working capital targets in days and in value
  • SLOBs: manage SLOBs with proactive reduction once there and preventive not to generate them
  • End-to-end cost to serve
  • Production Schedule Performance / Supply Bias with manufacturing
  • V-OTIF with Procurement

Job Requirements

  • Gained a MSc degree, with a supply chain or engineering major, is APICS certified (CPIM & CSCP) and has completed the master IBP training
  • Has at least 10 years of work experience both in supply chain and planning roles
  • Experience with customer requirements and collaboration
  • Gets results through influencing rather than power
  • Has worked in following functions: production management, supply chain planning, logistics, and commercial
  • Extensive managerial skills in hands-on leading teams, people development and operational reporting
  • Value stream optimization project experience integrating production, planning and logistics
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of AkzoNobel and E2E SCM, Value stream planning, Material Planning, Logistics
  • Business acumen to drive impact and optimize for growth; the ability to focus on areas of high business value
  • Acts as peer to BOL and is on the career path to become regional Supply Chain leader or BOL
  • Cross functional collaboration skills, bringing together procurement, manufacturing, planning, logistics and customer operations and the ability to balance (potentially conflicting) team priorities
  • People & talent (development) capabilities
  • Analytics and planning system skills (SAP, and future planning systems)
  • Project management capabilities

 

Compensation Data

The salary range for these skills is: $150,000.00 - $167,000.00.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
