Job Purpose

This position will supervise up to 8 Maintenance Technicians and 1 Electrician, across 3 shifts.  In conjunction with the Site Responsible Engineer, this position will oversee maintenance activities within the facility including directing contractor maintenance personnel as necessary.  Position will be responsible for maintaining facility assets and building as well as the parts stores and ensuring necessary parts and equipment are available to support manufacturing activities on site.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state and local requirements.  Also will participate in promoting LSR’s and support the plant BBS program as necessary.
  • Plan, organize and direct mechanics, electricians and outside contractors to meet all maintenance needs of the facility.
  • Plan and oversee regularly scheduled preventative maintenance process to ensure that developed plans are followed.
  • Develops and manages the predictive and preventative maintenance program for the plant.
  • Work with crew, contractors and engineering manager to troubleshoot and solve difficult equipment and facility issues that arise.
  • Order parts and equipment as needed to keep the facility and equipment operational and in original form including the maintenance of a critical spare parts program.
  • Organize and maintain shop and parts room to a 5-S standard
  • Provide or direct training as needed to others
  • Manage a site work order system and meet with team leaders on a regular basis to address any team concerns
  • Work, along with SRE and other departments, within given budget restraints
  • Promote the current quality system through adhering to the elements of an being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual and procedures.                                                                                       
  • Drives the ALPS Continuous Improvement program within Maintenance
  • Provide monthly PM and maintenance report, update PM schedules and provide an annual department plan for continuous improvement

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required.  College work in math, chemistry and other technical courses is desired
  • Mechanical and electrical course work providing pipefitting, machine repair, hydraulic, welding and electrical knowledge
  • 6-10 years direct supervisory experience/training & strong understanding of maintenance and the maintenance process
  • Strong background knowledge of operating equipment and department processes including PLC programming & PanelView and equipment controls programming.
  • Understand principals of safety and safe work
  • Must be able to read blueprints. Ladder diagrams and AutoCAD preferred
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal & written
  • Strong leadership skills & effective interpersonal skills
  • Good PC, Excel and Word software skills

Rewards & Benefits

The salary range for these skills is: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 + 5% annual target bonus. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
