AkzoNobel is excited to announce opportunities to join our Integrated Supply Chain team in Nashville, TN. Our Planner is responsible for Service of Finished Goods to the Customer.  You will contribute to this by executing Supply Plans that balance Service Levels with Operating Working Capital (OWC) targets established by the business.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage the production plan to ensure material availability matching the demand, while keeping in line with agreements made with stakeholders
  • Release production orders to the site in line with agreements made with the site
  • Ensure that the production plan optimizes service level, inventory and costs, while adhering to constraints in operations
  • Review Master Production Schedule (MPS) with site and set actions to align demand and capacity as much as possible, and propose gap closing actions where needed
  • Be the contact for the site schedulers to finalize production plans and to discuss exceptions or changes to the plan to adjust the plan accordingly
  • Support the site schedulers and site with analyses when needed to create visibility
  • Create clarity and visibility on possibilities in the production plan to alleviate bottleneck resources
  • Provide impact analyses when needed to show the impact of decisions towards the site or towards the market, and propose gap closing actions
  • Support Production Planning Manager/Supply Planning Manager on IBP process preparation
  • Balance service levels and inventory and have a good understanding of costs in supply chain and manufacturing
  • Work together with relevant stakeholders to understand customer requirements and incorporate this in the production plan
  • Cooperate with relevant stakeholders to decrease slow-moving and obsolete (SLOB) in the SLOB process by challenging batch sizes and manufacturing frequencies
  • Work together with relevant stakeholders to make sure that available stock has the needed shelf life for the customers
  • Be a partner to relevant stakeholders through the gate keeping meetings to proactively provide information that is relevant to other parties
  • Actively participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI)/Materials of Change (MoC)/End of Life (EoL) processes to ensure product availability, and ensure adherence to the stage gate process
  • Maintain and improve master data parameters and/or other relevant settings and parameters to get a fit for purpose system set-up
  • Make sure that transactional data in the system is up to date and reflecting the reality
  • Proactively flag potential issues, and come with gap closing proposals to mitigate

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering or other business related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
  • 1+ years of experience in production planning/Master production scheduling/capacity management 
  • Competent in key principles of Material Requirements Planning, Distribution Requirements Planning, Master Production Schedule, Rough Cut Capacity Planning.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP or other equivalent applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Preferred SAP or similar ERP experience
