Position Title: Import/Export Logistics Coordinator

Position Location: 535 Marriott Drive, Floor 5, Nashville, TN 37214

Summary of Duties: Responsible for all import and export process related activities, such as custom clearance, forwarder management, and import and export forwarder management. Working with the business supply chain and related functions, such as R&D, Finance, IM, Purchasing, Sales and Customs Service to clearly define the business process agreements. Working with country Customer Service, Supply Chain and Logistics teams. Working closely with NAM logistics on forwarder selection, price negotiation and supplier management. Safeguarding and aligning with the related global requirements and have these implemented in close co-operation with business units and suppliers. Keeping good relationship with North America custom and related government department to well understand and meet government regulation requirement. Setup of Import-Export operations center to lead the team working on the import and export daily tasks, and to drive operational excellence, service level improvement, supplier management, cost savings and process innovation. Secures and uninterrupted and timely support to all BUs within specifications. Handling of Air or Ocean documents and process all related paperwork per requirements of client. Responsible for creating/ issuing the actual set of documents. Communicating with origin offices, shippers, and customers via email and telephone. Maintaining daily tracking and providing update status to customers. Handling of containers and single shipments from various regions. Negotiating rates. Maintaining files by ensuring they are costed and billed in accordance with procedures provided by management. Acting as the liaison between the Business and the freight forwarders. Knowledge of PO and billing processing to ensure Company compliances within the IMPEX Team and Duty drawback process knowledge. 

 

10% domestic and international travel required.

     

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Logistics and International Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Supply Chain or related field and 2 years of experience as a Freight Payment Coordinator, Logistics Account Representative, or similar role.

 

Applicants must have 2 years of experience with the following:

  1. Manage conflicting business interests, understand and be able to establish common ground in organizational (including cross BU) barriers;
  2. Perform, understand and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation;
  3. Microsoft Office;
  4. Import and export experience in chemicals industry; and
  5. Operational systems: FCL, LCL, Airfreight and Customs Clearance.

 

Applicants must also have experience with:

 

  1. SAP (Systems Applications and Products) and ocean shipping procedures.

 

Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.
