Job Purpose

The Country Buyer collaborates with both Global and Regional Indirect Category Managers, business stakeholders and Procurement 2 Invoice (P2I) teams to deliver short- and long-term commercial benefits within their geographic responsibility. You will do so by achieving significant cost reductions whilst maintaining or improving product and/or service quality levels. The Buyer is a generalist procurement role covering all category areas of Indirect Procurement for North America totaling >200€ in annual spend. The Country Buyer is responsible for executing global and regional category strategies in their geographic responsibility under the stewardship of the relevant Global or Regional Category Manager. In this role you will use sourcing knowledge to support Global and Regional Category Managers in implementing the global and regional strategies for the categories by doing projects and RFPs (request for proposal) with medium-value sub-categories/suppliers. This position requires an individual with a strong background in Indirect Procurement, stakeholder management, supplier management, contract management, excellent communication skills, as well the ability to deliver significant sustainable business results and being an ambassador of a cultural change. Experience in risk management in procurement area will be an asset.

  • Responsible for the delivery of Commercial Procurement support for Statement of Work (SoW) requirements between €15 - €100k for their geographical responsibility and Procurement activities requiring specific local intervention for general requests and Capex requests up to € 250k
  • Able to ‘prevent spend leakage’ by reducing supplier base complexity and finalizing agreements/contracts to reduce spot buying and increase use of preferred suppliers.
  • Expected to bring knowledge in Category driven improvement projects such as complex tenders, contract support, and other special assignments.

This role will be based with our Procurement team in Nashville, you may provide support to businesses outside of North America language skills in Spanish &/or Portuguese is desirable.

Key Accountabilities

  • Be able to do spend analysis and suggest projects to consolidate suppliers
  • Execute medium-value (€15-€100k) sourcing projects 
  • Execute some high value and high complexity (>€100k) sourcing projects with Category Manager stewardship e.g. Capex requests
  • Prepare business cases supporting sourcing recommendations including competitive bidding, negotiating, analyzing data and market trends 
  • Provide contract management and interface with Legal department
  • Able to interact with multiple stakeholders in regional cluster of countries on development of procurement business cases as well as  policy development and conformance
  • Act as the sourcing interface between P2I and NPR Procurement organization for escalation issues

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field or equivalent work experience ; Master’s Degree and/or Procurement accreditation will be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a national purchasing role with an international understanding
  • Fluency in English required with language proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable 
  • Comfortable working in a matrix organization structure
