About The Opportunity:
We are currently on the hunt for an enthusiastic and experienced Supply Planner to join our dynamic team at AkzoNobel in Sunshine, Melbourne. Are you a supply chain expert with a knack for optimising inventory levels and ensuring the smooth flow of materials? In this pivotal role, reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, you will manage all assigned materials activity in relation to production planning and ensure availability for the Master Production Plan in line with MRP parameters and supplier contracts.
Key Purpose:
- Managing the flow of materials into the factory, monitoring and optimising inventory levels, and overseeing the ordering of materials.
- Monitoring performance to ensure materials are available for the agreed supply plan and that materials planning targets are met.
- Identifying and driving actions to improve the supply and availability of materials within the facility.
- Managing the distribution of Finished Goods with a high level of understanding of trade-offs between service, inventory, and costs for all business units.
We will count on you to:
- Ensuring consolidation of independent, dependent, and distribution demand at SKU level.
- Managing requirements inventory netting and DRP process management.
- Resolving exceptions in accordance with IBP rules.
- Balancing service level (OTIF) and inventory targets (OWC), while understanding cost impacts on manufacturing.
- Defining and maintaining replenishment policies for all SKUs.
- Managing reduction and prevention of slow and obsolete stock.
- Overseeing the planning and scheduling of materials into production sites.
- Reviewing MRP outputs to ensure MOQs and inventory targets are adhered to.
- Continuously improving the purchasing process using best practice technology.
- Ensuring availability, optimised inventory levels, and PO integrity of assigned products through the usage of planning systems.
What you need to have:
- Previous experience in supply chain and inventory management.
- Excellent knowledge in MRP and Excel with a strong background in purchasing.
- Proficiency in SAP: Essential for managing materials and inventory.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to manipulate and interpret large quantities of data with strong numerical ability.
- Problem Solving: Capable of identifying issues and driving actions to improve supply and availability.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with good interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally.
- Resilience: Able to work under pressure with little supervision, demonstrating a drive for results and quality orientation.
