About the Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior R&D Chemist to join our innovative team in Sunshine, Melbourne! The role involves working in a laboratory setting, conducting experiments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the lab. You will work closely with the technical team and report findings in technical reports or presentations.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Providing local technical support to the business strategy of growth in ANZ, focusing on the localisation of the Sikkens range and new product development.
- Conducting lab-scale paint making, testing, and application tests.
- Recording testing data, identifying abnormalities, and reporting findings.
- Supporting Marketing and Sales on trials, complaints, and testing of new products as per local conditions.
- Ensuring laboratory functionality, including equipment calibration and raw material stock management.
- Complying with SESAME RD&I governance, HSES policies, and testing protocols.
- Supporting manufacturing processes and addressing customer complaints with adequate solutions.
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Technology.
- Previous laboratory work experience in a related field, preferably within the coatings or decorative paints industry.
- Strong practical, analytical, and laboratory skills.
- Proficiency in SAP and Product Vision Software.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting experimental work and findings.
- Ability to work safely and comply with all HSES policies and procedures.
- Proactive in proposing ideas for laboratory and process improvements.
