About the Development Chemist role

At AkzoNobel manufacturing site in Sunshine North, we are looking for a Development Chemist to develop and maintain the product portfolio for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Coil and Packaging (metal) products and provide technical support to local teams (commercial, operations, procurement etc).

The role will see you:

  • Follow safe work practices for personal and equipment safety.
  • Deliver projects / tasks on time and as per plan.
  • Manage own priorities, seeking clarification as required.
  • Correct use of methodologies, tools and systems.
  • Ask appropriate questions to clarify requirements, expectations and critical performance parameters.
  • Document results following the appropriate reporting system.
  • Have a general understanding of how a customer uses our products.
  • Problem solving own issues independently, actively participate / contribute in more complex problem solving situations.

What you will bring

We are looking for an experience Development Chemist with knowledge and experience in the Industrial Coatings industry, that also:

  • Has a good understanding of the coating technology platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science or equivalent.
  • Ability to discern colour for colour matching.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, to influence, problem-solve, project manage and get results.
