About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable R&D Chemist to join our Coil Coatings team. In this role, you will be responsible for formulating, developing and evaluating coil coating products, assessing new raw materials, and supporting key technical projects. You will also provide technical support to the Regional Technical and Commercial teams, contributing to product innovation and customer success.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to build technical expertise in industrial coatings within a collaborative, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices to ensure personal and equipment safety.
- Formulate, develop and maintain coil coating recipes and product portfolios for South Asia.
- Deliver medium- to long-term R&D projects in line with project plans and deliverables, under the guidance of senior technical staff.
- Evaluate raw materials and optimise formulations to enhance product performance and meet customer requirements.
- Participate in visits locally, interstate and overseas for product evaluation and scale-up activities.
- Prepare technical reports to summarise evaluation outcomes and update product guidelines.
- Provide technical service support to the Regional Technical and Commercial teams.
About You
- 1–2 years’ experience in the industrial coatings industry or a related field is preferred, but fresh graduates with a chemistry background are also encouraged to apply.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science or a related discipline.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent technical report writing skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills.
- Ability to discern colour.
- Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel interstate and overseas as required.
