Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job:

Responsible to coordinate the North America accounting team based in Mauá rendering services to NAM region in all accounting and fixed assets aspects, including part of the team implementation always observing IFRS aspects and internal policies. Also responsible for treasury accounting, cash repatriation and Intercompany.


- Lead the NAM Accounting Team located in Maua, based on procedures, and polices agreed with the client areas, to execute Accounting and Fixed Assets Processes in order to deliver the required services as set in the Service Level Agreement (SLA)

- Close contact with NAM Regional Accounting Center team and Infosys (third party), as well, when required

- Close contact with Americas Treasury by supporting with relevant information related hedge account, cash repatriation, daily cash closing and dividends payments

- Conduct projects with high impacts in the businesses in a regional context.

- Proactively propose new processes and projects to improve Accounting Operations and other areas (Continuous improvement)

- Responsible for Intercompany Process for the South America region.

- Responsible to implement global projects / procedures in the region

- Responsible for new Policies and to keep the existing ones updated according to AkzoNobel Global accounting policies (webFEM) and international accounting standards

- Ensure the successful month-end closing and financial results generation, within guidelines agreed with all client areas, to support business intelligence and management

- Ensure integrity and security of accounting transactions, in compliance with International Financial Standards and regulations and AkzoNobel policies, in order to prevent frauds and errors in finance processes

- Develop a good relationship with the client areas (internal and external), within the guidelines of finance area, with the purpose of cooperation between the business to create standardized processes

- Collaborate with auditors and inspectors, in compliance with International Financial Standards and regulations and AkzoNobel policies, to ensure the integrity of financial processes and results

- Advise and support NAM Regional Process Delivery Leads and Accounting Controllers regarding processes, aligned with internal policies.

- Lead the regional team in daily processes

Job Requirements:

-Graduation in Accounting

- Post-Graduate in Finance or Business Administration related (desirable),

- Fluent in English and Spanish, the position will be constantly in contact with Regional Accounting Center in North America and Infosys (third party)

- Great communication skills & ability to do so with the different stakeholders  

- Be service delivery and results oriented.
