Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job:

Responsible to rendering services to North America region in all accounting and fixed assets aspects, including part of the team implementation always observing IFRS aspects and internal policies. Also responsible for treasury accounting, cash repatriation and Intercompany.


- Ensure compliance with Accounting activities (journal entries, reconciliation, consolidation, intercompany balances, fixed assets, payroll, assistance to audits, etc), based on procedures and polices agreed with the client areas, in order to attend the Finance Shared Services clients demands and deliver the required services as set in the Service Level Agreement (SLA);

- Contact with NAM Regional Accounting Center team and Infosys, as well, when required

- Identify process gaps, opportunities and potential issues, based on SLA and Process indicators deviations, to anticipate problems and propose process improvements and correction projects;

- Proactively propose new processes and projects to improve Accounting Operations and other areas (Continuous improvement)

- Ensure the successful month-end closing and financial results generation, within guidelines agreed with all client areas, to support business intelligence and management

- Ensure integrity and security of accounting transactions, in compliance with International Financial Standards and regulations and AkzoNobel policies, in order to prevent frauds and errors in finance processes

- Develop a good relationship with the client areas (internal and external), within the guidelines of finance area, with the purpose of cooperation between the business to create standardized processes

- Collaborate with auditors and inspectors, in compliance with International Financial Standards and regulations and AkzoNobel policies, to ensure the integrity of financial processes and results

- Support the regional team in daily processes.

Job Requirements:

Graduation in Accounting

Post-Graduate in Finance or Business Administration related (desirable)

Intermediate level in English: the position will be occasionally in contact with RAC North America and other regions

Intermediate level in Spanish (desirable)

Great communication skills & ability to do so with the different stakeholders

Advanced problem solving and analytical skills; Be service delivery and results oriented
