Job Purpose

 

• To handle all sales functions for counter sales customers at the Colour Centre
• Provide prompt and efficient customer service to achieve maximum sales & customer satisfaction
• Take full control of the Colour Centre administration, stock control, cash and daily operations
• Supervision of staff at the Colour Centre – the Shop Assistant and Tinter/Merchandiser

Key Accountabilities

 

• Offer and maintain acceptable customer service levels by attending to all walk-in clients
• Assist all walk-in customers with product specifications, coverage estimations, pricing, recommendations and colour selections using Dulux colour systems 
• Assist and resolve customer complaints timely
• Carry out invoicing in ACCPAC
• Receive payment or obtain credit information from Finance Manager
• Prepare cash, cheques & banking summaries for Daily banking
• Ensure that banking and reconciliations are done timely
• Prepare daily sales summaries and send to accounts by e-mail 
• Ensure all issued invoices and receipts accurately filed and kept sequentially and in order
• Ensure orders and all manual invoices for each day are captured in the system at the close of each business day
• Maintain stock records of all received goods and dispatched goods to customers and any other locations
• Maintain counter area displays of merchandise in an attractive & orderly manner
• Keep abreast of new product information and upcoming product promotions
• Prepare merchandise for customer transportation
• Ensure shop keys and security codes are kept safely without sharing with any other employees you work with.
• Liaise with Head office on goods transferred to your location
• Supervise packing, shipping and receiving operations at the Colour Centre
• Arrange and execute distribution of products to various customers in the area
• Maintain accurate and up to date distribution records
• Maintain stock control records on a daily basis showing stock on hand, stock on order, stock issued
• Initiate and undertake stock cycle counts at the Colour Centre location, investigate and report on any discrepancies to the Finance Manager
• Review Colour Centre stock and initiate ordering of replenishment supplies to maintain adequate stock and ensure fulfillment of customer orders at all times
• Ensure that no stock movement is done within or outside the system without your written approval. This includes movement of stock to and from the Colour Centre, signed copies of documents for such movements should be maintained and filed correctly for reference
• Plan and supervise stock rotation every time new stock is received to ensure convenience of handling and to prevent deterioration and spoilage
• Initiate the ordering of special items, colour charts, stripe cards, brochures
• Report on slow moving and damaged stock and recommend appropriate actions on slow moving stock
• Monitor and manage the receiving, storing and issuing of stocks and maintain filing of signed copies
• Ensure customer accounts are settled by due dates
• Ensure correct and accurate pricing is used for invoicing
• Ensure that deliveries to clients are undertaken on time
• Improve OTIF
• Offer and maintain acceptable and superior customer service levels to all clients
• Initiate and carry out periodic company stock taking exercises 
• Maintain and defend Dulux brands and reputation
• Assist the Regional Sales Manager, Warehouse Supervisor & Production Manager with regular reports on stock levels of all products to ensure economical re-ordering and avoid stock outs
• Monitor and report competitor activities in your areas
• Implement and adhere to the Dulux Sales systems
• Administer and submit regular sales reports covering lead generations, market intelligence reports, competitor activity, item shelf prices surveys, daily sales summary, pipeline reports, banking and receipts.
• Externally – maintain relationships with contractors, painters, lead providers companies and specifying professionals through telephonic interaction

Experience

 

• Full Grade Twelve certificate, Diploma in Business Administration, Sales or Marketing
• Have necessary experience, skills with practical customer handling & sales competences
• Competence in the MS Office suite is desirable
• HSE experience is preferred
• Exposure to FMCG environment would be a distinct advantage
