Our Akzo Nobel GmbH in Cologne is searching for a
Tax Lead DACH (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilties
• Lead and inspire the DACH Tax team
• Optimize the company’s overall tax position in the DACH region
• Ensure full and timely compliance with DACH tax requirements, including Transfer Pricing requirements
• Represent and defend the company’s tax interests during audits and interactions with local tax authorities
• Maintain constructive relationships with tax authorities
• Ensure compliance with the company’s Tax Control Framework and support the coordination and execution of global and regional tax processes, including Transfer Pricing, DAC6 reporting, tax planning, and tax risk assessments
• Provide tax and transfer pricing support for M&A transactions and internal restructurings
• Manage the DACH tax budget, ensuring both external spend and internal resource costs remain within target
• Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce cost in tax operations
Your Qualifications
• University degree with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or Law; a German tax advisor qualification (Steuerberater/in) is considered an advantage
• Extensive experience in a senior tax role within a multinational company, including leading tax teams
• Strong expertise in German tax law, including corporate tax, VAT, and indirect tax accounting
• In-depth knowledge of transfer pricing, with hands-on experience in German transfer pricing audits and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to interact with German tax authorities and manage tax audits (experience with Austrian and Swiss Tax Authorities a plus)
• Experience working with SAP; knowledge of HFM is a plus
• Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Fluency in both English and German is required
