Job Purpose

Develops all type of colors within CE or Auto segments
Participate in projects as a team lead or member 
Leading 5’s, BBS, safety rules. Ensures a safe work environment.
Trains and supports lower levels of color developers to get them to a higher level.
Customer and production support.
Have contact with Customer, Marketing, Sales on color related subjects. Can take the needed decisions and give answers to their questions independently.

Key Accountabilities

Approve colors by himself and for others. Decides on ok/nok for production batches when they’re out of spec. Give advice on improvement actions. 
Knows all processes and follows the guidelines for formula development.
Keep pigment info and knowledge up to date.
Runs and reports on FD related projects where color is in the lead and bring it to a satisfactionary result. Attends and represents color in a good manor when being a member in a project. 
Works closely together with other R&D teams (product development, solutions, applications) to come to the required results for the customers.
Can independently solve color issues at the customer on site to his satisfaction, being a good representation of Akzonobel Coatings. Joins technical teams with customer switches, demo’s to get the option for Akzonobel Coatings to gain the customer. Ensures the color offer is OK for demo’s or switches before going to the customer by visiting site for color checks, improve the formulations to the needed quality, makes the improved formulations available in the needed systems.
Leading 5’s, BBS, safety rules. Ensures a safe work environment.
Determine priorities of LWR  for each day of the week


Color development experience of 7-8 years.
Effect pigment identification test of microscope >60%.
Score of color chess test<20.
Strong coordination skills.
Experience in project-based working, preferable as project lead.
Color and color software knowledge.
Pro-active, pragmatic hands on mentality, positive mentality with a strong drive for ownership and responsibility.
Ability to work collaboratively and flexible as part of a team and independently when required.
Able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines.
Good computer skills (MS Office, SAP, color software).
Fully comply with all safety, health and environmental guidelines according to site and company standards.
