Senior Chemist

Job Purpose

Developing and maintaining UV Products in North China.
Leading product development in UV Flooring.
Leading product development in UV IKEA projects.
Leading UV projects in the UV Furniture and Door.

Key Accountabilities

1. Respsonsible for recipe and product portfolio for UV products China.R&D.
2. Responsible for delivery of small or non-complex (sub)projects within the R&D function, delivering new product or optimisation of processes.
3. As part of the projects responsible for defining and delivering project plan including scope, milestones and deliverables.
4. Responsible for all UV VE activities in North Asia.
5. Evaluating an optimizing formulations so they are designed to enable consistent manufacture in the manufacturing plant, and that procedures are followed.
6. Responsible for new product creation within agreed specifications to the local customers, meeting customer response time requirements.
7. Provide technical support to the TS and Sales team in China. 
8. Responsible for the day to day development of UV projects in China.
9. Together with local commercial team decides on how to approach customers with what product portfolio.
10. Autonomy in deciding the solution for failed production batches (scrap, rework).
11. Objective setting of technician on site.
12. Liaison with local operation, communicate information for new development products/processes at an appropriate stage to allow planning for smooth introduction / transition.
 

Experience

1. 6-9 years of experience in the Industrial Coatings industry.
2. > 8 years experience in formulating UV coatings.
3. Good understanding of the Coatings technologies platforms.
4. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science or equivalent.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management.
6. Very good English language skills.
7. Technical background.
