Job Purpose
- Providing day-to-day operational support for the MPY Chromascan network in South East Asia and Australasia (SEAA) Region
- Manage, coach and direct the SEAA Chromascan team
- Ensure that all Chromascan operations follow correct HSE guidelines
- Driving continuous improvement to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Assess vendors and third party appointed contractors to handle repair and maintenance works for all Chromascan tinting in SEAA
- Evaluation of new tinting equipment and liaison with key suppliers.
- Regional Chromascan contact for sales, manufacturing and supply chain teams including warehouse relocations
- Carry out installations & training of new MPC RDC’s, LDC’s and distributors.
- Provision of Operational KPIs and reports on a regular basis
- Member of Global MPY Chromascan Operations Team
Key Accountabilities
- Day-to-day management of the SEAA Regional Chromascan team to maintain MPY production capabilities across the SEAA Region in a safe and efficient manner
- Manage, design, and support the installation of new Chromascan centres
- Provide technical and software support on Chromascan issues to associates and distributors
- Maintain and manage dispenser equipment and databases.
- Work with engineering partners to implement preventative maintenance program for all warehouses and major distributors in SEAA Region.
- Practical hands on approach to problem solving including basic equipment maintenance and servicing of colour equipment
- Drive plans to achieve Chromascan HSE and sustainability targets including auditing
- Implementation of new technology to Regional Chromascan centers.
- Operational training of Chromascan and third party staff plus colour training for local distributors and sales / technical teams.
Key Activities
- QC training for warehouse and distribution staff supplying MPC products.
- Development and Implementation of best practice as part of Global Chromascan team
- Generate KPI reports including monthly tint volumes and operational site efficiency
- Involvement in claims and complaints investigations relating to Chromascan products
- Monitor equipment utilization to identify where equipment upgrades are required.
- Contribute to Global Chromascan team including sharing of best practices
- Represent the department on teams and committees as required.
- Provide annual CAPEX proposal (equipment upgrades and replacement) to Regional and Global ISC Managers.
Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical), Chemistry, Physics or Polymer Science
- Minimum five years background essential in operational and technical colour delivery methods and equipment used in the coatings industry
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant paint technologies used by MPY BU
- Ability to work unsupervised and make reasoned decisions.
- Demonstrable capability of building and running successful cross-functional teams
- Ability to work with colleagues from wide range of backgrounds (i.e. operations / supply / RD&I / marketing etc.) and with customers
- Wide range of computer skills, including SAP and database management
- Good communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks
- Experience with budget management and preparation of capital vouchers
- Fluent in speaking Bahasa Indonesian and English.
- Chinese language competence an advantage
- Ability to travel including international Business travel
