Accounting Controller

Qualifications

• University degree in Economics/Management/Business Administration/Engineering faculties or holding a master’s degree in the related areas
• Minimum 8-10 years business experience (3-5 years of management)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with a Big4 accounting firm, tax auditing experience
• Certified Public Accountant certification (SMMM) is required
• Strong knowledge of Turkish generally accepted accounting principles (Local GAAP), and IFRS.
• Expertise knowledge in local tax laws and regulations
• Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to add value on existing processes
• Automate, simplify specialize and find efficiency gains in procedures
• A leader profile with strong interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English both oral and written
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications
• Strong experience in SAP FI & CO modules

Job Description

• Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Accounting, SOX and all Tax Operations of the company
• Responsible for the future quality of all accounting system and procedures.
• Maintain and oversee all accounting operations and processes for Statutory and Tax
• Manage monthly closing activities and ensure timely and accurate submission and reporting in accordance with Corporate Accounting standard and requirements
• Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations for the accounts under his/her responsibility
• Coordinate the relations with external auditors
• Focus on control and process improvements
• Support other functions on daily activities by providing guidance on accounting standards and AkzoNobel procedures
• Be a part and lead occurring central and internal finance projects and inform related counterparts for changes and impacts
• Provide timely reports and ad-hoc analysis on the area of responsibility
