About the Role
To be the logistics first point of contact for Marine, Protective, and Yacht Coatings by executing the movement and distribution of goods efficiently. This includes coordinating transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
This role plays a crucial role in optimizing logistics operations and meeting customer demands.
In addition, this role handles documentation, tracks shipments, analyzes data to improve processes, measures the performance of service providers, ensures compliance with regulations, and collaborates with various teams within the organization, such as sales and customer service, to streamline operations and meet business objectives.
This position is based at Alisan premises, our current LSP (Logistics Service Provider).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or a related Logistics department.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics functions or industry, including import/export operations; experience in the chemical industry is an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience using SAP, particularly within the Warehouse Management (WM) module.
- Strong execution skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure, delivering high-quality results while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail and proficiency in designing reports and dashboards.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Macro.
- Results-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen is a plus.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Completed military service (for male candidates).
- Living in or willing to relocate to Gebze, İstanbul (Asian Side), or İzmit.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, select, structure, combine, and interpret data on logistics elements, such as warehousing, strategic distribution/transportation, and import/export operations.
- Produce reports to monitor performance and support decision-making.
- Conduct transactional activities in SAP.
- Analyze logistics processes, identify integration defects, production requests/issues, and recommend alternatives for improvement.
- Conduct research and manage assigned projects, ensuring execution and delivery. This includes Continuous Improvement (CI) projects aimed at cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Develop, maintain, monitor, and improve Logistics KPIs.
- Confer with logistics management teams to determine ways to optimize service levels, maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
- Advice stakeholders on best practices and processes to ensure cross-business synergies.
- Prepare business flow diagrams for various logistics flows.
- Responsible for coordinating logistic service providers including Import and Export operations.
- Responsible for representing Logistics to other departments, including IT, for all Logistics system related activities, specifically, but not exclusively, SAP.
