Job Purpose
Supervisor 2nd shift. Responsible for directing the production activities of the shift. Guide the daily manufacturing activities in a manner that maximizes total departmental performance by managing the key aspects of safety, quality, process efficiency and cost control. Directly manage shift production personnel and provide feedback and development in conjunction with people management cycle standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate AkzoNobel Core Values and LSR’s and participate in HSE&S activities.
• Provide supervision and leadership during shift.
• Support shift personnel by through assistance with filling, sampling, material movements, and other process related activities.
• Conduct shift turnover with the oncoming shift manager and assist with shift changeover.
• Ensure coverage of shift activities by appropriate allocation of personnel resources and execution of overtime where necessary.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate shift activities for sitewide personnel, including maintenance issues, work permitting, etc.
• Participate in incident investigations and HSES non-conformance reporting.
• Directly manage and provide feedback to shift team members in regards to performance and development.
• Participate in performance and development cycle for supervised employees.
• Provide production updates and shift performance reviews.
• The shift manager will be responsible for making time-bound decisions on shift with little to no input from higher supervision when escalation is either unavailable or not possible due to time constraints.

Salary range for this role is: $75,000 to $85,000 + Straight OT after 44 hours weekly.
This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.

Job Requirements
Required:
• Experience in the chemical industry
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred. Pass pre-employment physical, background check and drug screen. See essential qualifications.
• Basic computer skills with microsoft office suite and familiarity with SAP production and QA systems
• Ability to effectively communicate with direct and indirect reports, peers, and supervision/management staff.
• Ability to work overtime as needed - including weekends and overlap coverage for scheduled and unscheduled absences of other shift supervisors.
• Ability to recognize and enforce all local and company safety regulations, PPE requirements, etc.
• Ability and willingness to perform production tasks effectively – drum filling, material movement, wagon unloading, etc.
Preferred:
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Experience working at resin plant or familiarity with resin plant operations.
Essential Qualifications

• Ability to lift and handle containers such as 5 gallon pails up to 75 lbs, 60 lb bags of pigment or maneuvering drums up to 900 lbs

• Ability to climb stairs wearing steel-toed footwear
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments and inclement weather

• Ability to operate a forklift, following all operating instructions effectively and efficiently
