Job Purpose

Is to Manage all phases of the Rework Process for the Houston site.  Including aspects of development or refinement within the Planning / Scheduling and Operational use of rework.  Administers all SAP internal movements of rework including BOM updates and recipe changes.  Maintains continuous stock levels of warehouse rework based on business needs.

Key Responsibilties

  • Development / Enhancement of current rework processes for the Houston site, in addition to inbound logistic processes.
  • To be the Liaison with planning/scheduling, warehouse and operations for the rework process, management of the process and any refinement opportunities.
  • Interfaces with functions such as R&D / Quality / Supply chain as well as Operations for Recipe / BOM-related changes for using rework.
  • Monthly / Weekly consumption reporting to Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Conduct weekly planning and scheduling rework meetings aligning needs of the business to the capabilities of the operations teams.
  • Oversees on-site rework levels, SAP accuracy of those levels and consumption of the rework materials used.
  • Process Engineer will need to be multi-faceted:  Able to communicate to various levels, able to understand quickly and interpret need, lead teams, drive results through others that are not direct reports.
  • Provides expertise for on site operations group during process related troubleshooting issues- firsthand with production operators/quality techs.
  • Develops process standardization (where applicable) and contributes to reduce variability on the different rework processes. 
  • Promotes the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in plant Programs/Committees/Training as required, such as Department Safety, Plant Safety, Behavioural Safety, Housekeeping Audit Teams, ISO, Life Saving Rules or any other safety programs.
  • Participate in the Safety Journey. Adhere to the Golden Principle which is   Simply to intervene to stop work if conditions or behaviour are unsafe.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering OR sufficient paint / chemical manufacturing experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience as CI, Process Engineering or Chemist roles experience 
  • Prefer 2-3 years of experience in Coatings Industry
  • Ability to utilize IT Tools and software such as SAP, MS Office, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and work with a team.

Total Compensation

  • The salary range for these skills is $75,000 to $85,000 + 7.5% annual bonus.
