Job Purpose

The individual in this position works in the maintenance department to support and coordinate the functioning of the maintenance department. The person in this position will work closely with the maintenance leads to keep the work order and PM process updated and accurate. Additionally, the individual is also responsible to help the department better function by placing orders for external services and/ or external contractors using the SAQ system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Computerized maintenance system to plan/prioritize PM responsibilities, work requests, and contractor work findings.  Ensure all the work done on a daily basis to support and maintain the factory is logged in the system.  This includes entering yellow tags into Megamation to generate work orders, schedule them as per their priority and work nature, and making calls to external service providers (forklifts repairs, plumber, external contractors etc) and coordinating their activities on site.
  • Plans and schedules PMs.  Makes adjustments to PMs when failures occur.  Works with leads to optimize PMs.  Works with Purchaser to coordinate parts required for jobs/PMs.  Creates BOM for PMs and designs predictive PM’s anticipating the need for wear good replacement. 
  • Monitor and Report Performance of plant equipment to increase availability of assets.  Implementation of reliability maintenance, develop FMEA, RCM, PdM technologies and optimize PM to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness.  Leading Asset Integrity program on site, Ensure relevant laws, regulations and company’s HSES standard are being followed.  Responsible for the strategy of preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance, Responsible for caused analyse of equipment failure and prepare action plan according to root cause.  Reporting the OEE monthly and take lead of improvement projects.  
  • Complies with all HSE policies and reports any concerns, which may have an adverse impact on health safety and the environment. 
  • Attends monthly safety meetings, maintains a neat, clean and safe work area, works safely and requires others to work safely also. Adheres to AkzoNobel’s Code of Conduct.  Corrects or notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions. 
  • Work with the external contractor(s) to provide necessary help and assistance in order to complete their work on site and issue the required Work Permits.    

Job Requirements

  • Position requires a minimum of Associates Degree in engineering application, vocational/military training or 4-5 years related experience.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Must possess manual dexterity and have the ability to lift at least 55 pounds and must be able to stand or walk for periods of eight to twelve hours. Must be able to use ladders, hoists, industrial trucks and material handling equipment.
  • Must have the ability to wear a breathing apparatus and other associated HSE personal protective equipmentMust possess the ability to read and comprehend technical documentation including Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, wiring schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams. 
  • Must be proficient in the safe use of a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, gauges, micrometers etc.), power tools (table saw, cut off saw, bench grinders, sanders), and test equipment (multimeters, process meters, insulation testers). Must be able to perform electrical and mechanical repairs to processing machinery and associated equipment. Must be able to diagnose basic PLC and process control issues.
