Job Purpose
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans for designated Key Accounts that are critical to the organization's success. This role serves as the primary commercial leader for assigned accounts, driving revenue growth, profitability, innovation, and long-term customer value through strong relationship management and cross-functional collaboration. The position ensures alignment between customer objectives and business strategies while delivering financial performance, identifying new business opportunities, and strengthening engagement with key stakeholders at all organizational levels. Through effective account leadership, market intelligence, continuous improvement initiatives, and execution of commercial strategies, the Key Account Manager supports sustainable growth and enhances the organization's strategic position within the market.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and execute strategic Key Account Plans aligned with regional and global segment, marketing, and MPY growth strategies.
- Identify, develop, and secure sales opportunities utilizing existing and new service offerings within the Oil & Gas, Power, High Value Infrastructure, and related industrial sectors.
- Develop and manage a commercial pipeline to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and business opportunities across assigned Key Accounts.
- Deliver financial performance objectives by achieving budgeted regional and global Key Account revenue, profitability, and P&L targets.
- Drive innovation and value creation initiatives within Key Accounts to strengthen customer partnerships and support long-term growth.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships across all levels of Key Account organizations, including executive leadership and key decision-makers.
- Lead new business development and account growth initiatives aligned with customer requirements and strategic business objectives.
- Collaborate with Global Key Account Management, Regional Specification Sales, Country Area, and Local Sales teams to execute global, regional, and local customer projects and opportunities.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, customer service, technical, and marketing functions, to prioritize developments, coordinate trials, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Provide commercial leadership and ongoing support for services projects, ensuring high service levels, operational effectiveness, and identification of upselling opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer service, operational efficiency, productivity, capability, and overall value creation.
- Contribute to commercial excellence through market intelligence, CRM utilization, integrated business planning (IBP), regular business reviews, contract compliance, and sharing of Key Account Management best practices across the organization.
Level of Autonomy
- Book and manage travel in line with current MPY travel policies.
- Quote and secure Services projects within defined margin and margin percentage indices.
- Manage own schedule and working hours in support of global projects, customers, and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Ability to travel globally in support of customers, vendors, and internal meetings.
- At least 5 years of Sales and/or coatings inspection experience in the Oil & Gas or related heavy industries sectors.
- Technically competent and/or comfortable with the use of general industry computers, tablets, and coatings inspection equipment.
- AMPP inspector and/or coatings specialist credentials preferred.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
Total Compensation
- The salary range for these skills is: $100,000 to $118,000 + 35% annual bonus.
