Job Purpose

The role of a Facilities Operator II is to provide support to ensure smooth operation of laboratory, allowing RD&I technical teams to carry out their work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out tasks as assigned by line manager in order to provide all round support in maintaining smooth operation of laboratory facilities to allow RD&I technical teams to carry out work efficiently.
  • Understand and manage a broad range of customer needs and self-manage and priorities to meet deadlines as agreed with line manager to ensure laboratory chemists are supplied with materials/facilities required.
  • Order, supply and replenish consumables, raw materials and solvents used in the laboratory as required.
  • Supply and replenish spill stations in the laboratory facilities and dispose of waste materials as required.
  • Support laboratory staff by conducting non-core tasks (e.g., blasting or panel preparation) and/or non-laboratory-based tasks as required.
  • Ensure housekeeping/HSE standards meet requirements. Identify, report and implement areas for improvements.
  • Understand basic requirements of test methods/procedures relevant to the role as required.
  • Being skilled in other complex activities, contribute to the management and maintenance of other facilities to assist the Facilities Team Leader/Facilities Manager as required.
  • Understand operation, cleaning and maintenance of relevant laboratory equipment and risks associated with equipment and its operation.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as Facilities Operator in order to demonstrate skills necessary to manage in-house facilities.
  • Some laboratory experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of MS Office including, excel.
  • Prefer experience in supporting laboratory facility.
     

Total Compensation

  • The hourly range for these skills is: $21/hr. to $25/hr. + 4% annual bonus.
