Job Purpose

As part of the global Chromascan team, implement technology, footprint & standard practice optimization projects as well as other globally lead Chromascan initiatives. The Coordinator will be Responsible in NAM & SAM for identifying and improving the outcomes of regional Chromascan Operations (CO) and processes to improve efficiencies, safety, reduce cost of operation and increase product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the completion of the HSC Project within the Americas (LATAM & SAM Focus)
  • Influence modernization of tinting practices within the SAM region (Software, Dispensing tech, QC & Op. Practices)
  • Coordinate, monitor and drive project activities, manage project risks, issues, changes and resources and take corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Identify and facilitate process improvement projects aimed towards aligning SAM to NAM & ROW. Conduct root cause analysis to determine operational and safety issues primarily through Third-Party network in SAM.
  • Practice and embed project management best practice in executing regional activities
  • Identify and manage the design and installation of capital equipment relating to improve process and safety in CO.
  • Conduct compliance audits, distributor evaluations and surveys to drive results with the continuous improvement processes to ensure change is standardized.
  • Promotes health, safety and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required for the success of Akzo Nobel.

Key Activities

  • Manage and implement global and regional Chromascan projects for the Americas region.
  • Facilitate and maintain standardization of processes and procedures for CO in regional distribution centers (RDCs) & support distributor network.
  • Act as primary POC for SAM Stakeholders & Support SAM Third-Party Leadership with High-Level Projects
  • Ensure effective training and tools are provided to Chromascan users to maintain standards of quality and implement change in CO.
  • Work with Logistics COE to implement footprint changes within region & improve operational standing particularly through fleet modernization


  • Prior paint experience in production and / or R&D (coatings background preferred)
  • Project Management & cross-functional project experience required. 2 years of experience
  • Former Leadership Experience preferred
  • Good people and team skills
  • Knowledge of IT Databases (SQL – Azure etc…)
  • Ideally service-based operation experience desirable.
  • Ability to travel internationally (SAM Primarily)
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, PM Tools and Visio/Mapping software (CAD etc..)
  • Good communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
  • Ability to communicate to multi levels and functions including customers
  • Common sense approach, flexible and ability to learn.
  • Science or Engineering Degree
  • Working knowledge of Spanish (Fluent Preferred)
  • Project Management (Agile or Scrum), Lean Six Sigma (greenbelt), MEP, MS Project
