To temporary support our Finance department at our Hilden and Cologne location for 12 month, we are looking for an

Accounting Controller (m/f/d)

Your tasks

Coordination and oversight of the proper execution of all relevant accounting and finance activities in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP for a defined business unit
Primary point of contact for internal and external Shared Service Center organizations
Support and review of accounting entries, including preparation of risk analyses and communication of improvement opportunities
Identification and resolution of issues, including solution development and escalation to the appropriate stakeholders
Responsibility for the review and approval of annual financial statements, including coordination and active participation in the preparation process
Coordination of collaboration with external auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders
Handling and forwarding of tax audit-related inquiries to the Tax Manager, including alignment and coordination
Active involvement in projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Interface function with various departments such as Business Functions, Business Controllers, Supply Chain Controllers, Sales, and Site Management

Your qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; a Master's degree is a plus
Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally in an international company
In-depth knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (HGB)
Excellent analytical skills
Structured, independent, and responsible work approach
Strong proactive and effective communication skills
Flexibility and resilience under pressure
Advanced proficiency in MS Office
Good knowledge of SAP (FI) and Hyperion HFM is a plus
Fluent in both German and English
