Job Purpose

AkzoNobel Coatings, Inc is seeking Project Engineer for its High Point, NC location.  This role will be responsible for designing processes and equipment that meet overall project objectives; improve manufacturing reliability and contribute to the performance of the supply chains organization effectiveness measured by cost, quality, quantity of product produced, manufacturing equipment efficiency and service level.  Qualified candidates may submit their resumes via email to: jobs@akzonobel.com.  Be sure to include Requisition ID# 21060 in the subject line. 

Key Activities

  • Provide process design input on P&IDs and RFQ specifications for the Detail Engineering Contractor in cooperation with other Project Engineers
  • Work as a liaison and collaborate with other team members and specialist, including engineering contractors and major equipment suppliers, to develop a cost-effective manufacturing process design and ensure safe operations while achieving AkzoNobel's company standards
  • Assist on the implementation of major Engineered Packaged Equipment (Automatic Dosing Unit, Process Automation System, and others)
  • Lead the major Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test

Experience

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field must posses at least 5 years of experience and those candidates with a Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field must possess at least 2 years of experience in the following:

  • Auditing of paints and coating production processes design to ensure the operability of installations 
  • Leading commissioning of start-up activities for a smooth transition between project cycles (from design to construction), and beneficial production development
  • Executing investments on equipment, installations and maintenance 
  • Organizing delivery of HS4, HS, and assisting in the Project/Plant/OSS to beneficial production 
  • Implementing improvement methodologies (ALPS)
  • Coordinating site maintenance tasks 
  • Ensuring compliance with safety critical procedures
  • Managing resources, re-stocking of spare parts, and account budget maintenance reports

 

Education

Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field AND at least 5 years of stated experience, or;

Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field AND at least 2 years of stated experience
