Job Purpose

The Process Engineer manages the process functions within production and manufacturing. This includes but is not limited to the resolution of production issues, improvement projects, preventative and corrective actions from Customer Complaints / DGRs, optimization of KPIs such as DGRs, RFT, HPB, and cycle times. The Process Engineer collaborates with multiple teams on site including Quality, Production, Maintenance, RDI, Engineering, Warehouse and Procurement. The process engineer is responsible for managing projects and actions assigned by governance committees or stakeholders, along with self-initiated improvements and projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the Pilot Plant Team
  • Own the New Product Introduction Process
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in meeting plant goals.
  • Monitors the process performance through metrics such as RFT, MME, OEE, cost productivity, customer complaints, Waste Indices and takes action as required to correct adverse trends, performing plant-based process investigations.
  • Identify, design, coordinate and employ statistical evaluations utilizing the ASQ Body of Knowledge. This will include MSA, DOE, Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the plant wide Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assist in specification development and/or changes as requested.

Job Requirements

  • BS in Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical or Process required and Six Sigma and Lean experience.
  • 5-7 years' experience in CI, Process Engineering or Chemist roles
  • 3-5 years' experience in the Coatings industry preferable
  • Able to work with solvents, machinery and computer systems.
  • ISO 9001 experience and knowledge of PSM covered processes and experience with MoC and project governance. 
  • Understanding of the use and sizing of tanks, pumps, mixers, filters, heat exchangers, solvent recovery units, solids handling, and other chemical processes and equipment handling

Compensation Data

The salary range for these skills is: $79,000.00 - $88,000.00.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
