Job Purpose
The Training Coordinator will manage and facilitate the manufacturing training program at AkzoNobel. This is a unique opportunity to help build a world-class manufacturing training program. You will leverage your experience in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to utilize training in support of organizational key performance indicators. Additionally, this role will play a key role in maintaining and organizing site operating procedures and training in conjunction with compliance rules. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected.
Key Responsibilities
• Organize all site operating procedures and training programs to allow easy retrieval and availability for all site employees
• Create and maintain program documentation (lesson plans, instructor guides, visuals, etc.) to support the overall structured manufacturing training program
• Facilitate new hire Production Associates through all phases of the structured manufacturing training program, including extended onboarding
• Monitor review frequency and distribute procedures due for review and revision to appropriate teams. Track and monitor reviews to completion prior to revision deadlines.
• Work with area leadership to maintain area training records and schedule refresher trainings on the specified cycle
• Document attendance and evaluate assessments and/or feedback for all training activities
• Maintain records for production line personnel qualified as on-the-job trainers
• Provide on-shift training support for production associates and production line leadership, as required
• Solicit, document, and disposition feedback from respective production line leadership
• Deliver other required training, as assigned
• Determine appropriate training method for work instruction updates
Level of Autonomy
Trainer can manage and oversee training master plan; will have to seek approval at times from CI Manager but should be able to work with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements
• 3+ years of production operations experience with 1-2 years in a training role (preferred)
• Understanding of production process and methodology
• Open collaborative style; ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
• Unfazed by ambiguity and comfortable in environments with shifting priorities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including solid interpersonal skills
• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
• Demonstrates personal leadership and accountability
• Understanding in adult learning principles, instructional design, or education
• Proven time management and organizational skills
• Proven ability to build relationships across organizational departments and reporting structures
Work Schedule
Working hour for the role will generally be 8am to 5pm, Monday thru Friday. Possible OT may be needed.
