Job Purpose

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of employees while protecting the environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in planning and implementing programs and procedures to safeguard our facility’s environmental responsibilities and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

•  Ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures while demonstrating integrity in all duties as per the company’s Code of Conduct.
•  Represent the site in its relationship with safety regulatory agencies and conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training programs.
•  Write safety policies and procedures and conduct new employee orientation training to provide a basic understanding of all company-wide safety programs.
•  Lead accident investigations and analyze injury data to determine root causes, recommending corrective actions.
•  Conduct risk assessment meetings and act as the Emergency Coordinator for the site, coordinating emergency planning and response activities.
•  Evaluate new processes and manage changes, ensuring the site is in compliance with all safety requirements.
•  Review all new raw material forms and oversee the management of hazardous waste, ensuring proper disposal and documentation.
•  Manage special site projects as needed and provide support for the Behavior Based Safety Program.
•  Work collaboratively with customers on safety and environmental matters and assist in developing safety training for off-site sales force.

Level of Autonomy

The job holder has some authority to make decisions independently, with more challenging decisions requiring approval from higher management/supervisors.

Job Requirements

•  2-year Post-secondary education/Degree with 2-4+ years of EHS experience without direct coating experience or 1 year coating experience with no degree.
•  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with stakeholders and create a positive influence for change.
•  Knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements, including experience conducting job hazard safety analysis and facility assessments.
•  Experience conducting training for small and medium-sized groups.
•  Ability to shift focus and maintain priorities in a fast-paced environment, with effective analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
•  Dedication to safety leadership and presence, with the ability to perform physical duties in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Compensation/Benefits

The salary range for these skills is:  $70,000 to $79,000.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
