Job Purpose
Responsible for the execution of defined pieces of a project or lab work request to include new product introduction, raw material changes, coating and software product testing, and root cause analysis. Will also be responsible for color matching, color design, color database development, and resolving color-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned lab work requests including timeline and planning. Will deliver project results on time, ensuring quality and feasibility according to business needs.
- Complete Research and Development projects to include formulation, preparation, spraying, testing and evaluation of paints and coatings to meet specific project requirements.
- Develop and implement new paints and coating technologies. Formulate and revise standard paints and coatings technologies and product platforms.
- Summarize test data in the form of spreadsheets, reports, and presentation. Will provide support to sales, marketing and supply chain efforts.
- Provide data-driven insights to support diagnostics and resolution of issues in manufacturing, application, and formulation.
- Represent Research and Development in cross-functional teams to include quality control and pilot plants.
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment, complying with safety policies and procedures. Follow safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field. End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 1 year experience in polymer chemistry to include formulation or technical work in a laboratory.
- Knowledgeable of experimental, development and/or analytical approaches.
- Knowledgeable of color theory and color formulation theory and practice.
- Effective organizational, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to successfully complete Farnsworth-Munsell color vision test.
Rewards and Benefits
The salary range for these skills is $66,000.00 - $74,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
