Job Purpose

Execute daily project tasks and lab work requests with minimal supervision. Will work with defined standard operating procedures (SOPs), making minor adjustments to established product lines to achieve performance or application efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and test formulations using standard operating procedures (SOPs), analyzing the resulting data to form conclusions.  Must work within established timelines.
  • Maintain project documentation consistent with best practices, communicating and reporting test results to lab personnel.
  • Present project data to stakeholders in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Provide direct support to sales, marketing and supply chain efforts through reports, presentation, and guidance/recommendations.
  • Represent Research and Development, working effectively with cross-functional groups to include quality control and pilot plants.
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Science, Chemistry or related field.
  • 1 year experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledgeable of chemistry/polymers.
  • Learn and understand customer application methods to replicate customer line conditions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Conform with all site and laboratory safety requirements and policies demonstrating safe practices and behaviors.  Will participate in AkzoNobel safety programs to include audits and safety meetings.

Rewards and Benefits

The salary range for these skills is $55,000.00 - $59,000.00 based upon experience.  This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.
