Job Responsibilities
Description
- Provide technical advice on surface preparation/coating application on-site in accordance with agreed specifications.
- Advise both shipyard/contractor and owner's representative when discovering any deviations from the specification unless rectified.
- Utilize technical knowledge to assess painting application, coating failure analysis, inspection, testing, and provide required reports.
- Provide technical information and advice related to product characteristics and product performance on-site.
- Attend project meetings with the shipyard, contractor, and shipowner’s representatives.
- Liaise with International Paint to ensure on time paint deliveries/returns/orders for the projects, etc.
- Project stock control/ management at sites on behalf of International Paint.
- Troubleshooting at sites and highlight to International Paint on issues related to quality, safety, delivery and handling the products as required.
- Submit daily inspection reports via the ERS system and other relevant reports when required.
- Provide monthly progress reports and other administrative works to International Paint.
- Submit timesheets as proof of attendance to International Paint.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Coating Quality Control inspection experience (minimum NACE Level 2 or FROSIO Level III).
- At least 5 years of working experience in a marine/shipyard environment.
- Must have a high level of customer focus and ability to cope with several priorities concurrently.
- Ability to deal appropriately and diplomatically with stakeholders at all levels and disciplines.
- Excellent team orientation.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-minded with organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reporting and literacy skills, including high level computer and applications literacy.
- Able to communicate in English and Vietnamese.
- Willingness to work in Ba Son Shipyard.
